The student and tutor collaborate to set goals with student progress assessed regularly.  Tutors prepare lesson plans for each session and meet their students once or twice a week for at least one hour.

One-on-One tutoring takes place in local libraries, community centers, church facilities, educational and social service centers in Collier County as well as the LVCC offices – any public place that is convenience for both the student and the tutor.

All tutors are certified by ProLiteracy America, a national organization.  Using a wide range of resource materials such as ExpressWays, a four level course for English learners, our tutors teach English to speakers of other languages and those individuals needing improvement in basic English skills.
