On Friday, May 7th, 2021 LVCC hosted its inaugural Golf Scramble at the Golf Club of the Everglades in partnership with Glide Golf. The tournament saw a packed field of 108 golfers vying for the title of the 1st Annual LVCC Golf Scramble Champion. This event was the first event fundraiser for LVCC since the beginning of the Pandemic in March 2020 and what a success it was. The tournament, which included a Silent Auction, raised over $20,000 to go towards the organization and its Mission.
Those in attendance enjoyed a beautiful day of competitive golf in an amazing setting. Golfers enjoyed a buffet lunch before hitting the tees, followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres once their round was completed. At the end, prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and putting champion were awarded along with raffle winners. At the end of the day, the event was a massive success and the money raised will go a long way towards helping children and adults improve their English literacy. A special thanks to the Golf Committee, Marc Fletcher (Committee Chair), Steve Williams and Chris Spitz for their hard work making the event happen.
Another thanks to Danny Mullally, John Murray and the staff at the Golf Club of the Everglades for being such great hosts of the event. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the 2nd Annual LVCC Golf Scramble.
